I began my BA (Psych) at Acadia University Nova Scotia and completed both my undergraduate degree and my Masters in Counselling Psychology Degree (MC) through Athabasca University Alberta. I worked during my education as a Child and Youth Care Worker with St. Francis Foundation (currently Waypoints), and later during my Masters Degree as a Classification Officer with the Department of Justice NL. Following completion of my Masters Degree (2012) I began clinical work and opened a private practice where I worked both full time and part time while I was Instructor of the Child and Youth Care Diploma Program at Eastern Academy. I then pursued my career as a Program Supervisor and later Manager of Out of Home Care with Key Assets NL.
I enjoy physical activity and working out as I believe the body and mind heal each other and I enjoy time with friends and family. I use a wellness approach to living and I practice self care. I believe that managing crisis and difficult life events builds strength and resiliency, and that everyone needs guidance and support when navigating life’s challenges. I also believe that people need an individualized approach, one size does not fit all.
